About the role:


We are looking for a Conference and Governance Lead to join our team. You will report to the National Secretary | Korimako Tangiata and your role includes:


• Planning internal events from start to finish, according to requirements.
• Manage all aspects of event execution, including pre-event preparation, event deployment and post event review and administration
• Manage the budget for all events, including sourcing and negotiating rates from vendors and suppliers
• Providing executive support to the National Secretary | Korimako Tangiata
• Managing interactions with Government, Ministry of Education and other unions
• Supporting the Senior Leadership Team and Governance Group
• Leading excellent manaakitanga and whakamanatanga for all members and guests of the organisation
• Line management of two direct reports in the Office of the National Secretary | Korimako Tangiata

Skills and experience:



• Proven experience managing logistics for conferences / event organisation – taking the vision from member leaders and making it a reality
• 2+years events experience
• Experience in leading a team, preferably as a line manager
• Experience setting and managing budgets
